Flying with a cloud of 50+ vultures at El Bosque, Andalucia.
About an hour in to a soaring flight at El Bosque streams of vultures began converging from across the countryside at the base of the hill face. They soon climbed in the rising air forming a wheeling cloud of 50 to 100 birds, and I found myself in the middle of the gaggle. The footage doesn't quite do justice to the number or proximity of the birds. Luckily everybody was following air law! After a few minutes the cloud dissipated, with the vultures drifting off in different directions. One of my best flying experiences to date.
The footage was shot during a test flight of a Gin Sprint Evo glider, and with a GoPro HD Hero 2 on its first outing. I was really impressed with the clarity and exposure of footage, especially when shooting into the sun.
