Techniques demonstrated: sky replacement, wire removal, particle system animations, greenscreen keying, interactive lighting, force field FX, multipass CG compositing, 3D camera tracking, lens distortion/undistort
Set extensions are a staple of the visual effects world and Pascal Bruguiere did an outstanding job on his term 3 lesson 07 assignment. Performing a bluescreen key on the three folks, he placed them on a card then built a 3D world using still elements with camera projection. A flock of birds and some excellent color correction pulls the entire shot together.
While not the most glamorous aspect of visual effects, tracking marker removal is a key skill if you want a job in the visual effects industry. In student Pascal Bruguiere's version of this challenging term 3 week 6 exercise he used some outstanding camera tracking and 3D camera projection techniques to achieve his outstanding results.
In this Term 3 week 01 exercise student Pascal Bruguiere in Tokyo designed a mind-blowing combat scene using just one super high resolution digital matte painting and a single multi-pass CG space fighter. He created the space fighter animation then added explosions, smoke, laser fire, camera shake, and a multi-plane camera move to bring his shot to life.
Once again CG Spectrum student, Alejandro Davalos, shocks and stuns us with his horrific interpretation of the Term 3 week 2 assignment. The mission is to add gory effects to the lovely lady and Alejandro's unique interpretation leaves nothing to the imagination.
