A month or so ago I went to a local venue to see someone I have been admiring for a while, Noah Gunderson. Before Noah took the stage, this man, Armon Jay came out and sang several songs with an expression of his Soul that I could feel deeply. I wasn't sure why, but as he ended his set here in Salt Lake City, Utah, he spoke of his battles with addiction. Given my own struggles with addiction, I was immediately drawn to him. I already had a connection to the music of Noah Gunderson...his song Fire could be the story of my life. It was introduced to me by my son Greyson who was 15 years old at the time. I had sobbed tears of happiness as I heard this song, Fire. I will be making a video of that song one day as well.
Back to the most important part here and that is this talented young artist, Armon, who plays with Noah, and I felt a deep connection to him because of his story. The entire show was absolutely amazing, they must be seen live! Armon's music and his open heart to discuss his struggles struck a chord in my Soul.
As my wife Rae and I drove home that night, we listened to his CD which we purchased. It was very good, and just as we got home, the last track on the CD began to play. It was this song, he didn't play this in his set that I remember, but at this moment, I completely connected to it's message.
You see when the journey of my addiction recovery began, it was in a moment that was most dark. One day the image of the Sunset on Ipanema beach showed up on my computer screen. As I saw that image that I had taken just a month before, I had a most vivid realization that in spite of my shadow, my dark side, the one we all have...in spite of that, I was Loved. Loved by some unconditional energy emanating from a Source. Not one I could see with my eyes, but one my heart could not deny.
That began a journey, and that journey has led me to this moment. This song capitulates the experience and allowed me to share some special moments that I have had on this journey. It's moments like these, in Nature that help me realize who I am, and that is Love. I and Love, like you, are Love, and Love emanates from our Creator like Rays from the Sun. I have been saying that and trying to capture it in as many ways as I can for a long time now.
The journey has been difficult, as addictions are, but in the darkness I found a Light I could follow. With my art and music from inspired artists, the message is powerful and undeniable. What that is, is whatever you felt during this video. For some of you it may not be anything at first, but continue to listen to it, let it plant a seed deep inside you, and nourish it in Nature. Go out, be in the moment and reach out with all your senses to experience what Grandmother Earth has to show you. The messages are only for you to love you, bring you out of the shadows, and heal your Soul!
