A colorful psychedelic alien arrives to an ancient settlement and fascinate them with his delightful movements and extravagant colors. Beyond his naïve look and majestic movement his intentions are as ambiguous as the concept of the “manifest destiny” in the American West.
Volcano Calbuco erupted on April 22, 2015, for the first time in four decades. Located close to the cities of Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt in southern Chile. We spend the prior couple of days on the neighboring volcano Osorno (~20km linear distance) shooting timelapses. After an amazing night under the nightsky we took the cable car downwards after a delay caused by repairs. Already late we headed south to catch the ferry on Routa 7 down to Patagonia. After 10min on the ferry we noticed a massive, almost nuclear looking cloud boiling upwards just were we left a few hours ago. Frenetically looking for a good outlook we then rushed to the only non-forested place to get a decent view of the show. We quickly put every bit of camera-equipment we could find on the constantly growing mushroom-cloud. We shot timelapses in 8K and 4K with a Pentax 645Z and Canon 6D. On the A7s we shot 4K video to the Shogun. We filled almost all of our memory cards in the prior night so I had to do backups while shooting all this stuff.
This was for sure the most incredible show I've ever seen. I think this is a one in a lifetime event and I am so happy that we were able to capture it in all its glory.
We will also release a timelapse video of our 6 weeks trip to Patagonia soon.

Short video summarizing our experience during the awesome Maya Bay Sleep Aboard tour in Koh Phi Phi Don island, Thailand. This tour covers the beach and island where the movie 'The Beach' with Leonardo di Caprio was filmed back in 2000. It is the only tour that is allowed to stay in that preserved area over night and thus allowing us to experience such paradise literally alone (really, alone) from the afternoon to the next morning.
We are working on a master Thailand video but we wanted to say thanks to that team through this video and get the Thailand vibe going ;-)
"Trust me, it's paradise" (Leonardo di Caprio, The Beach)
Shanghai is a very lively, interesting, saturated and pleasant town. It is one of the best cities that I have visited. In this time lapse video I used the footage from two visits to Shanghai in 2014. The first is Chinese New Year... hi Raskalov on the Shanghai tower) It was a trip to China together with dimid vimeo.com/user1232595, During our ten-day trip to Shanghai we met with our friends from "Union of Timelapse China" vimeo.com/timelapsechina, and also visited several roofs with Vitaliy Raskalov and Vadim Makhorov. During the second visit to Shanghai in the summer I continued to explore the city, and of course the roofs, at the same day with a time lapse photographer from Nanjing warrior_lmd vimeo.com/user36346657! The city is an incredibly huge, and I’m sorry for showing you only its center because I had a little time.. There are delightful road junctions and bridges in Shanghai, you can enjoy them in this video. I do like this gorgeous city and I hope that I will be able to visit it again and again!
