This is my 15-minute set on the Festival's "Danger Zone" stage. It's a much-shortened version of my Catapulted Cabbage Catch routine. The "Danger Zone" is the stage the festival uses for stuff that's too sexy, swear-y or strange for the main stage. I think I'm in the "strange" category.
The night I filmed this, just by sheer luck, I had the best volunteer of the whole run, Susan. She was awesome. Shy enough, but not too shy; confused and easily flummoxed, but not stupid. Susan and I had a lot of fun. Especially getting her into the Safety Vest.
By the end of the 10-day run, all of the other comics after me in the running order were doing a Norco callback in their sets, which was quite a nice compliment.
Tim's comedy uses scientific phenomena and tools to explain everything from the hair that collects on a bar of soap to how his standards drop rapidly with abstinence.
A biologist by training, he graduated from UC San Diego with honors in biology and went on to complete a PhD at UC Davis. He spent years developing simulation and analytical models of population dynamics before he discovered that this bored him to tears. When he tried comedy for the first time the tears stopped.
Tim has become an underground sensation with over 2 million views on his YouTube videos.
