+ More

BEHIND GO WEST is a series of individual videos that explore the writing, creation, production and the rolling out an indie rock project, Go West by Inda Eaton.

Behind Go West
“The story about the story about the story,” as Inda puts it — shows Inda’s road-tripping music lifestyle back and forth between New York, Casper and Los Angeles, where band members Curt Mychael and Eve Nelson are based. Shows also were performed in Phoenix, where B. Rehm-Gerdes lives, and in Jeffrey Smith’s hometown, Milwaukee. “Go West” is Inda’s seventh independently produced album.

Troubles follow triumph in Inda’s documentary of the Go West tour, with a soundtrack that inspires faith (Hold On), humility (Road to Arizona), life challenges (Cowgirl Song), and compassion and comfort (Rest Your Head). The narrative is driven by interviews with Wyoming radio man Doc Shutts, footage from the band, fan cameras and is peppered with shots from photographers Lilly Henderson, Jenny Gorman, Rick Eaton, Aviv Rubinstien, Alex Albrecht and Annemarie McCoy.

As with everything Inda, there’s the metacognition, an awareness of how and why things come together, which makes for hilarious storytelling that resonates with her audiences. Her education initiative, Ideas to Inspire™, and her work in the school system have given students tools to deal with difficult emotional and cultural issues through music and art.
