  2. Storms near Rio Verde as seen from the roof of my house in North Phoenix on August 13th, 2017. Barely any CG strikes so I pointed the camera at the anvil for most of it. If you experience epilepsy from watching things flash a ton you probably will not want to watch this.

  3. Lazy Chasing - Season 3 Episode 2
Last night I decided to stay home for the night with Jamie. Storms started popping SE of Phoenix so I jumped up on my roof through a tiny little window. Getting up there is not easy.
So I'm up there and all of the sudden I hear Jamie's voice. She got up on the roof for the 1st time to watch the storms! It was awesome.
She eventually went down to grab dinner, then not even 30 minutes later she was back up there. So awesome having her with me watching the storms together.
Here is the time-lapse. The first part is the building storm to the SE then the second part is the incoming shelf from the north. Not a lot of cloud to ground bolts but it was a great night of lazy chasing with Jamie!

  4. An isolated severe storm near Paducah, Texas on June 14th, 2016. My buddy Mike Olbinski recently posted an incredibly beautiful photo of this storm a few days ago and it reminded me I had video of it on a hard drive somewhere.

This was shot with two 1080p video cameras so the quality is not the best. I didn't post it before because I was a little bitter my DSLR broke a few days before the trip and was frustrated by the quality. My schedule was all messed up last year and getting out of Arizona was tough in the Spring. Even so, I went without the DSLR because I was dying for storms and a window of opportunity to chase opened up.

On this chase I picked a road on the incoming dry line and watched this storm grow from a baby cumulus cloud to this incredible beast. Now that it has been almost a year these clips have grown on me. I love seeing the spinning clouds on a storm like this especially at sunset.

I'll be back out to The Great Plains in just a few weeks!!
