We've given the children the week off of the books to enjoy the snow, but, as usual, the best part of home education continues. The children have been playing outside in the morning, coming in for lunch, chattering excitedly of their adventures building igloos and sledding, going back out to romp and play and explore again as soon as their mittens are acceptably dry. When they come in again they make mugs of hot cocoa, the older ones helping the younger ones wriggle out of their snow suits, hang them to dry in front of the wood stove, and count out marshmallows into their mugs. This week they have been making their own stuffed animal toys. The afternoons have been blissful.
