This was the 20-lap race from our 16th regatta in season 6. There's some action in the first two laps, then after that it is mostly about pit-stop strategy.
Kim started in the pole position and pretty much kept her lead throughout the race, except for two laps. I got a lucky break in the second lap, when Sandi and Aquadoc bumped in the tunnel and as they came apart I was able to get past them both and into second place.
The rest of the race was basically me following and trying to catch up with Kim. When she pitted in the 8th lap I took the lead, but I had to pit on the 9th lap and she moved back into 1st. Then in the 16th lap Kim had to pit again, and once more I moved ahead. And once again I had to pit in the very next lap and Kim passed me.
In that last stop I knew Kim was coming so I cut my stop short, but not short enough. In retrospect I could have cut it even more, and might have got out in time to either keep the lead, or at least be in a better position to challenge her.

Season six, regatta thirteen at the Waikiti Waverunners Open Regatta. We had eight boats running in a ten-lap race.
One boat wrecked near the end of the tunnel, which led to a bit of a chain-reaction which eliminated half the drivers. It nearly took out everyone, but Blittz had visited the pits just before, and Kim, Sandi and I all had to head in for repairs immediately after. Fun & exciting stuff, racing with a crowd!
