Resonance is the vision of SR Partners; a collaborative project with over 30 independent visual and audio designers / studios. The aim was to explore the relationship between geometry and audio in unique ways.
Animators and Audio Designers were paired up at the beginning of the project and were given the guidelines to create a piece between 12 and 20, I had the awesome opportunity to work with David Kamp.
This piece is my approach to the connection between audio and shapes, I tried to give this abstract animation a certain type of emotion, that every movement happening on screen would be more than the sole propose of look cool and sync to the sound, to do this I based this video on a section of John Bunyan's "The Pilgrim's Progress", when Christian is guided trough the Interpreters House. It's a very personal, graphic and non-descriptive explanation of this part of one of my favorite books It's intended more to help me as the animator to give some meaning to the animation rather than narrate the story.
(If you're curious about this you can find an extract of the book here: http://goo.gl/aJ91j)
Jeroen from animography.net approached me with a pretty cool idea again, the last being Franchise animated (vimeo.com/70470864). This time it was a free canvas, with the only requirement to use one of the typefaces on the site. I was honored to be the first one to do Animography Monthly! But It was a crazy December for me and I was running out of time, so I had to give myself a few restraints:
· Had to be done 1 day.
· Had to fit the style of the Isotype font. (designed by Ryan Locke)
· Had to somehow tell the story of being a dad or becoming one. (since our son/daughter will be coming to this world in a few months :D)
So "Being A Dad" was born, an animated experiment on the weird but awesome blessing of being a dad.

Developing my own brand has always meant an opportunity to play with new things.
In this case, the rebrand of my logo gave me the chance to mess around with shapes and curves of animation for a few weeks and still be able to call it work.
I like to think this proyect as one of many others of this new freelance stage where I am able to dedicate a lot of love and time to each piece, as much as they need.
The piece shows plenty of typographic compositions and the way they are arranged give as a result three loops that act as my own personal banner. All that jumping and turning that we can see in the animation comes thanks to me having a lot of fun with it.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when making it!
