At the young age of 32, Jaclyn had a large hemispheric infarction caused from a massive stroke. It occurred the night before one of her children was to start school for the first time. Jaclyn was paralyzed on her right side and unable to speak. She could only blink her eyes.

Bill Pearson is the recipient of this year’s Distinguished Service Award. Bill is receiving the award for his outstanding contribution and dedication to Canada’s mineral and exploration industry in which he has worked for over 40 years. He has served as a tireless and dedicated pioneer and leader of his profession at both the provincial and national level.
Viola R. MacMillan Award for Company or Mine Development
Matt Manson, President and CEO of Stornoway Diamond Corporation, is the recipient of this prestigious award for leading Stornoway’s team in the continuing development of the company’s Renard Project located in the James Bay region of Québec. The team completed its $946 million project financing package this past July, more than 13 years after the project’s initial discovery.
