While talking to Jack Lawrence for a forthcoming story in the Fretboard Journal, we got a chance to hear his 1953 Martin D-28 up close.
Here, he plays "Red Rocking Chair," a tune made popular by Doc Watson (who Lawrence has partnered with since the 1980s).
This guitar is a typical straight-braced model from the 1950s and it sounds amazing, especially in Lawrence's hands.
Filmed by Randall Hill for the Fretboard Journal.
Doc Watson and Charles Welch borrowed a little office space to warm up before the show at Sugar Grove and I just happened to have my Flip video.
