Yovano, Yovanke is a traditional Bulgarian folk song of the Macedonia region. It is popular in and frequently performed in Bulgaria, the Republic of Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and the Macedonia region of Greece. It is about two young lovers separated by their disapproving parents. The song mentions the Vardar river which runs through present-day Greece and Republic of Macedonia.
Yovana is a female name (Slavic form of Joan or Joanna), and Jovanka is the diminutive form. The usages Yovano and Yovanke are in the vocative case used by the South Slavic languages.

The Portuguese words "Lamento de Saudade" cannot really be translated but it means something like "Tearful yearning" or "Sad Longing".
This piece has no meter or key. It is totally up to the performer... But, remember: it is all about the music!

Dear Vimeo Friends,
Here is my recording of a Mexican traditional waltz. I play a very nice arrangement for guitar by Sicilian guitarist, composer and teacher Giuseppe Torrisi. It is my pleasure to thank Giuseppe very warmly for giving me the score of this piece. It was very hot and humid here in Belgium during the recording session. The Mexican desert shown in the background seems much drier :-)
Thanks for watching!
