  2. Presented by dLux MediaArts and ISEA2013. This mixed reality project evolves artificial life forms and a virtual audiovisual ecology based on participants’ geographic location. Participants use their mobile device to ‘check in’ anywhere throughout the City of Sydney, and can track and interact with the evolving ecology and its life forms. Each ‘check-in’ produces a ‘seed’ within the virtual ecology that starts an evolutionary process from its location mapped in physical GPS-located space.

  3. Coalescing new organisations and new people, dLux launched its latest initiative, MEMEBRAIN onto the ISEA stage. Over a 48-hour period participants bunkered down in the Urban Screen Productions office in the sub-stage area of The Concourse, Chatswood for the inaugural Memebrain Art Hackfest. We had software and game developers, robot and music makers, augmented reality and projection artists, videographers and interaction designers move through the space, develop ideas and connect on similar areas of interest. It was a great opportunity for dLux to connect with the different communities and showed the importance of creating a space where artists could bounce their ideas off one another and enjoy the act of making.

Program Manager: Alexia Estrellado, Program Manager, dLux MediaArts
Artist Liaison and Event Host: Bravo Child
    Introduction Motion Graphics: Pauline Bappiah
Camera Operator and Editor: Virginie Laverdure
