First built in 2009, the Mongoose is one of two automated fiber placement product lines offered by Ingersoll. The Mongoose is available on both horizontal and vertical platforms. In this video from 2009, Ingersoll demonstrates layup on a concave structure while cutting and adding material on-the-fly. The part quality and layup time were significantly improved due to the modular Mongoose design. Since 2009 even more advancements have been added. Materials like out-of-autoclave, BMI and glass fiber have been successfully processed with the Mongoose AFP machine.
