Shwood has teamed up with local salvage specialists, Aurora Mills, to present the "Salvaged Series". Together the duo will scour the Oregon countryside to uncover and reclaim unique architectural materials and give them new life.
For release #1, Shwood travels to Salem, Oregon to tear down an abandoned barn dating back to 1910. Limited to 50 individually numbered pairs, the reclaimed Redwood used for the frames boasts an extremely textured exterior from 100 years of exposure to the elements. The frames are paired with an Oak wood interior for a classic two-tone aesthetic.
Based in Portland, Oregon Shwood creates handcrafted wooden eyewear using fine exotic hardwoods.
Shwood’s in-house manufacturing process merges precision technology with classic skilled craftsmanship to create a timeless art form. Every step from veneering and precision lens cutting, to shaping and finishing is conducted in our own Portland-based workshop to promise an entirely handcrafted eyewear piece. Shwood's brand new line of premium acetate eyewear.
Our new acetate collection was designed to come along no matter where you end up. As comfortable running around town as hiking the backwoods, these glasses strike the perfect balance of style and utility.
Each detail has been painstakingly considered to give you the highest level of quality. Top-of-the-line Mazzucchelli acetate (a renewable, plant-based plastic) is paired with Optics by Carl Zeiss lenses. 5-barrel hinges provide a secure and lasting fit. And real wood inlays insure that each pair is as unique as the adventures you'll have in them.
We’ve harnessed one of nature’s most beautiful elemental reactions in our latest material experiment, The
Oxidized Collection. Brilliant turquoise, blues, and golds swirl together, forming an eye-catching yet subtle
palette in each genuine brass inlay. When paired with either the Select or Fifty/Fifty versions of our classic
Canby silhouette, the result is a look that has quite literally stood against the tests of time.
