1. B proudly presents our new issue: Helvetica.

About Helvetica: Helvetica is a typeface first developed in 1957 by the Haas Type Foundry in Münchenstein, Switzerland. Created to meet the social demand for practicality in 1950s, Helvetica was made to be more functional than decorative.
It is now widely used in contexts from designs for public spaces and facilities in Switzerland to the digital interfaces of Apple products.
Helvetica's symbolic quality has earned the typeface recognition as a design icon - and as a brand.

  2. The next world war will not be invisible. | fullscreen please |

After the success of STUXNET, a virus written by the United States to destroy Iranian uranium enrichment facilities, the U.S. government could no longer deny it was developing cyber weapons meant to do physical damage. With US companies and agencies under constant attack from state-sponsored Chinese hackers, it is only a matter of time before tensions boil over and more sensitive infrastructure is targeted. As more of our devices (cars, homes, etc) become connected, we will become more and more vulnerable to the physical threat of cyber warfare.

  5. What can we learn by examining only the first and final shot of a film? This video plays the opening and closing shots of 55 films side-by-side. Some of the opening shots are strikingly similar to the final shots, while others are vastly different--both serving a purpose in communicating various themes. Some show progress, some show decline, and some are simply impactful images used to begin and end a film.
