Daniel Brodesky has a look at creating an organic looking handwritten type effect that can have a bit of dimension to it, with some overlap in the line. Simple to set up but very useful. The tutorial is inspired from and based upon a preset initially created by motion designer Sara Bennett (@Shabello23).
Daniel Brodesky shows how to make a Shockwave Effect using Trapcode Particular. Taking some techniques that are wholly inspired from Andrew Kramer's tutorial which used a Fractal Noise effect for the foundation of the shockwave, Daniel swaps out the fractal noise for a particle generator.
Here Daniel shows how you can use Particular in After Effects to create the start of the shockwave effect. Using a particle plugin like Trapcode Particular instead of fractal noise for this effect can lead to some more creative possibilities. What effects can be achieved if you used a sprite for the particle shape?
Particular will also offer the opportunity to layer the effect with more details, designing the effect by adding more particles to the original.
