This Thursday,Pastor Jay shared the first part of a two-part message,. We look at the Book of John to share how God fed the Children of Israel with manna from heaven. Later, in the Book of John, Jesus says: “I am the true bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will not die as your ancestors did (even though they ate the manna) but will live forever." Jesus connects His body with the manna from heaven. Just as Jesus offered the Samaritan woman living water, Jesus offers His followers His body, which He said is “real food.” While Jesus was talking about spiritual matters, Jesus also loved to feed people physically—Jesus never separated ministry into spiritual and physical. I made a goal several years ago—I never like to offer a group spiritual nourishment without offering some kind of physical nourishment. After all, it is what Jesus did! We will conclude the message on Thursday, June 7th as we look at the Feeding of the 5,000.
Have you ever been lost? Things that looked familiar became dark and scary. Pastor Jay told a story about getting lost when he was a child. He never forgot that feeling of finding a safe place. It's one thing to get lost in the woods but another to get lost in life. The peole we thought we could count on left us. Is there anyone who will help us find our way? If you have ever been lost in life, there is good news. There is someone to rescue you. If Jesus says it - you can count on it. What word of Jesus are you relying on when you are in a middle of a storm? If Jesus is with you, you have no need to fear in any situation.
Lesson #13: Love brings us to Jesus for salvation and eternal life.
This Thursday, Pastor Jay shared one of his favorite stories in the gospels—Jesus saves a woman the religious community wanted to kill. It’s a great story with a powerful lesson in it about love and grace! It is my prayer that we will be people who extend grace in every situation!
This Thursday was special! Pastor Gary Childers gave the sermon on healing. It was a powerful message. At the end of the service, we prayed for people to be healed, particularly people who have struggled with an illness all their lives. Please pray that faith will rise and that people will be healed!
