the lightpeaker spoke up and said: "I am the one, the who is many... I make the sound shaking the light ... its all moving matter so it's allrirght"
the video is based on cymatics in which Michael Schweiger, the human behind SoniLumatrice, is interested since longer time, as well as in analog modular synthesizers and Drones.
further influences stem from liquid lights as a strain of interested, which drives Denny Voch, Denny Lightray, who is the one, who made me fall into this liquid-light swirl, which caught me because it fits perfect the approach of analog drones.
I ever was interested in real AV, what means sound is visual is audible is light ... so none is the derivate of the other, there is no interpretation, but a transmaterial process involved.
So there is an since years ongoing interest, but only personal one, which met liquid lights and Denny who's interest in my feel the sound and yet using speakers filled with water to visualize the sound it disperses in realtime and via the same device - the speaker. So we ended up in some months of thinking trying to bring liquid light, which is projection art together with the sound-patterns in the speakers ... the result is: "the lightspeaker" ... involved here
the lightpeaker spoke up and said: "I am the one, the who is many... I make the sound shaking the light ... its all moving matter so it's allrirght" ...
sound and light into and through liquid, casting ephemeral inter- and transmaterial 3D sculptures and 2D displays
modified OHP meets waterproof speaker carrying liquid as sound to light transformer medium
SoniLumatrice performance at Musikraumgaragekraumgarage introducing the "light-speaker" which spoke up and said: "let there be noise what is waves of an ocean drone cast into liquid light" ... "light-speaker" colab-dev by Denny Lightray & me.
Tthe light speaker spoke up and said: "I am the one, the who is many... I make the sound shaking the light ... its all moving matter so it's allrirght"
Involved in the project are approaches to cymatics, which may not be thought without Chladni's findings concerning patterns in relation to sound frequencies and resonance in bodies ... Further of course liquid - light aspects are present, but thats both more the technical background.
The media oriented approach is transmedial and translatorial and finally interested in poly-sensual sound perception
on location the sound was easily perceived as vibrations in the solid, the ground one stood or sat on, as well as by ears and the whole body detecting the air pressure waves moving and dancing and of course by the photonics sound display ... the light speaker. and yet all those make the spatial aspects of sound transparent and sense-able
