1. Fifth day of my drive down from Spokane to Phoenix last year. This leg of the journey took me from Clearlake to Santa Cruz, where I spent two nights sleeping aboard a boat belonging to a time lapse buddy (thanks Roy!) We had a cool couple of days hanging out and shooting time lapse at the Pacific coast. We also drove up to Big Sur, which will feature in another drive lapse video, coming soon.

There are twelve sequences (days) in total, amounting to over 27 minutes of drive-lapse, and I plan to upload them one by one. All in all, I captured 40,945 frames from about 57 hours of driving.

  2. Fourth day of my drive down from Spokane to Phoenix last year. This leg of the journey took me from Burney to Clearlake, where I hoped to find some time lapse opportunities. Unfortunately, the plan was ultimately scuppered by the presence of all-night roadworks around the lake!

This was the first day that seemed to throw excessive quantities of insect material at my windscreen. My first priority when I reached Clearlake was to find a motor spares store and buy some dead bug remover! The next video should be clear(er) again...

  3. Third day of my drive down from Spokane to Phoenix last year. This was quite a long day, during which I drove from Mount Hood to Burney in California. I stopped briefly at Timberline Lodge just after I set off. By the time I reached Burney I'd been treated to quite a sunset: you can see a few frames in which I got out of the car to photograph it!

  4. Second day of my drive down from Spokane to Phoenix last year. I've uploaded this one for completeness, but it's very short because I didn't do a lot of driving that day. I took a day trip to hike to Tamawanas Falls. My intention was to make a time lapse there, but I was so tired from the hike that I didn't manage it! It was much farther from the road than I'd been led to believe...

  5. First day of my drive down from Spokane to Phoenix last year. I had already spent a week in Spokane, at WorldCon, and unfortunately there were a lot of forest fires around, as you can probably tell from the yellowish haze in the sky in this video.
