The Central Coast Commission for Senior Citizens celebrated their 40th Anniversary with a luncheon program on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Santa Maria Inn in Santa Maria, California under the direction of Area Agency on Aging, Executive Director, Joyce Ellen Lippman. Master of Ceremonies duties were performed aptly by board president, Jim Talbott, with welcoming remarks by Supervisor Salud Carbajal, 1st District, Santa Barbara County.
An enlightening and uplifting keynote address, "Aging Public Policy: Past, Present and Future" was delivered by Ms. Sandy Markwood, Executive Director, National Association of Area Agencies on Aging, from Washington, D.C.
Names were drawn, and door prizes provided by a variety of local donors were awarded to lucky attendees.
Following the buffet luncheon, Assemblyman ‘Katcho’ Achadjian, California Assembly District 35, shared "Senior Citizen Issues – A State Perspective."
The celebration concluded with special thanks being offered to the members of the planning committee and event sponsors.
