Alex Pourbaix is responsible for leading and executing our $46-billion capital projects program. As Executive Vice-President and President, Development, he oversees teams from all of our projects to ensure flawless execution and consistency across the organization. Now more than just construction projects, achieving stakeholder support – from communities, governments and landowners – has taken on the kind of critical importance never seen before in the annals of the energy sector.
Wendy Hanrahan knows what great people can do – and has seen it first-hand in the nearly 20 years she has been with TransCanada. She knows that finding the right people for the right jobs is critical to the success of the company. As the Executive Vice-President, Corporate Services, Wendy has overseen unprecedented growth in TransCanada’s workforce and says that continuing to provide our talented employees with the right skills, knowledge, leadership and tools will help enable our employees to enjoy continued success.
As Executive Vice-President and President, Energy, Bill Taylor is responsible for the company’s non-regulated businesses including power, non-regulated gas storage, and Bruce Power. Since joining the company nearly 20 years ago, Bill has spent many of his years working in the U.S. while playing a major role in growing and building TransCanada’s power business. Bill says that utilizing and focusing on current businesses and assets already in place will be one of the keys to our ongoing success.
Paul Miller oversees the liquids transportation area of our business, with the 25-year company veteran joining the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) earlier this year as Executive Vice-President and President, Liquids Pipelines. Paul is a strong believer in making values-based decisions and credits TransCanada’s overall success to our employees living by our corporate values of collaboration, responsibility, integrity, and innovation. Overall, Paul sees unprecedented opportunities in the years ahead in the liquids pipelines business, by maintaining operational and safety excellence on our already existing assets while remaining always on the lookout to seize upon growth opportunities.
Karl Johannson knows part of the company’s success is staying true to our word. As Executive Vice-president and President, Natural Gas Pipelines, he prides himself on TransCanada’s ability to deliver on what we say we will deliver – on time and on budget. He’s spent almost 25 years with the company and knows his ability to adapt and welcome change has been an asset and helped him take on new roles and responsibilities. And from a natural gas perspective, change will remain a constant with Karl seeing some great opportunities ahead in a prospering and growing business environment.
