In this project we have made a feature about the royal family in England. After researching about the royal house, it becomes clear that there are many different opinions about how people feel about their monarchy. From this perspective we have settled on our angle in our feature. Our angle is to show that the British people still wants to keep the queen, Elizabeth 2th, as their ruler and part of their culture.
In the making of our feature we have visited Buckingham Palace to get an impression of the surroundings around the royal family in their everyday life. Here we experienced great attention to the beautiful palace, which is surrounded by green and luscious parks. The area is well known by tourists and is one of the most visited tourist attractions in London.
At Buckingham Palace we interviewed many different, British citizens to get their opinion about the royal family and the queen. We asked youngsters as well as older people to get different perspectives and answers. From the interviews we can conclude that the British people is very excited about their queen, and that the general opinion about her is that she is doing a good job.
We have learned that football is more than just a sport in England. It's almost as if the whole country is watching it. The fan culture is developing, and it can give a negative influence on the sport we all love. We traveled to London in England to get experience about the fan culture. We went to the stadium of Queens Park Rangers; in hope of getting some interviews from some football lovers and perhaps some fans as have a good relationship to the club QPR. We filmed QPR’s stadium and many things that remind you about football. Unfortunately we couldn’t see a live match at the stadium and feel the atmosphere there, but at all we got some good interviews and we have made a perfect production about the fan culture in England.
London is the capital of England. It is a tourist city, but also a city with a high number of in-habitants. Everyone has a different view on London. London has beautiful buildings, wonder-ful shops and amazing streets.
When you look closer at London, underneath the surface; you’ll see all the bad things that are also a huge part of the major city.
It’s hard for some citizens in London to take a stand about the homeless on the street, be-cause the homeless are individuals. Not all Londoners like to give them money, because they’re worried about, what the money is used for.
In our London feature, we have focused on the homeless peoples struggles, of living in such an expensive and populated city. You will get a glimpse of the view on homeless people and their own stories.
If you want to learn more about the homeless in London, You can watch our feature and see how it is to live on the streets of London.
Over 300 languages are spoken in London, and everywhere you go you can see the change it has made in society. When visiting a restaurant, the chances of getting an Arabic waiter are just as big as getting a British one. When taking the bus, the driver might as well be Indian. London is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, which is why we have chosen to ask immigrated citizens about how they feel in the huge city. We will also ask if they have ever been suppressed or talked down to for their differences. We have chosen to do this, to investigate the possible problem of immigrants being subdued to racism in their everyday lives, and to see if they are able to continue with their everyday lives regarding religion and culture, even if they are far away from their origin.
