The main view is your guide to all the social media of the world, and the people who creates it. It’s divided into a media finder, a tag finder, a narrative finder and a people finder. You can choose to show all of them or simply tap the corner button on those you’d like to hide. You can also drag the center button to give more focus to one finder. It’s a really playfull and immersive way of journeying through content and discovering things you never knew you needed.
Let’s go thought what the four finders do: The tag finder shows tags you are searching for, the media finder shows photos, videos, audio and sound from a bunch of social media sources like Youtube and Instagram, the people finder shows people who are interested in the same things as you are, and the narrative finder shows narratives that people on Blind Spot have made. Next, let’s take a closer look at the tag finder.
On Blind Spot the way to find things is by using tags. So if your tag finder has the tag “photography” what you will see in the other finders is all related to photography. There are two types of tags - the ones you have selected, which are red - and related ones which Blind Spot will suggest to you, you see them next to the red ones. Let’s tap “landscape” in the related tags - you’ll see how the media finder now updates to show media that have been tagged with both “photography” and “landscape”. If you want to remove a tag simply drag it and you will see a trashcan appear at the bottom of the screen. You can add new tags by tapping the plus-icon in the upper right corner of the tag window like this.
The other way to find things on blind spot is to use the center button. Drag an item there and you will see all the things that relates to that item. Let’s drag a person to the center. You will see the narrative finder change to show which narratives the person have created, the media finder will change to media that the person has used, and the tag finder will show words that the person is tagged with. I can now drag one of the persons narratives to the center, to see the finder windows change to show what’s related to the narrative. This way I can go an a inspirational journey through related things. And when you want to go back just tap the center button once.
We are all about helping you grow by showing you things that are in your blind spot. The key to this is narratives, because it’s the stories we tell each other that makes us see the world in a new light. So we’re made it really easy for you to create and publish beautiful interactive narratives that you can swipe and tap. Let’s take a look at how you create your own:
