1. Baker Hughes decided to consolidate their seven international training centers across the globe into one central world class facility, ultimately named, The Baker Hughes Western Hemisphere Education Center. With a cost of nearly $56 million, the primary purpose of the Western Hemisphere Education Center was to showcase Baker Hughes as an innovative organization, who consistently uses intellect, innovation and forward thinking to keep Baker Hughes a leading technology provider. Everything in the WHEC was to be designed to represent their philosophy of innovation and to instill an overall sense of ‘innovative thinking’ to all employees while providing training continuity across all service lines of Baker Hughes worldwide.

    VISION Production Group was engaged to produce interactive multi-touch presentations and a variety of video, animations and motion graphics push content to drive home their ‘innovation’ message. We were involved in the facility strategy, layout, technology design and installation execution as well as the content creation. Careful selection of the state-of-the-art presentation technologies included an extensive review of different interactive touch tables and video screens to determine which presentation technology would work best within their training facility to create the desired user experience.

    It was decided to install two permanent installationst: a unique 24-panel mosaic video screen, the largest in North America, would be built to show company marketing videos and custom designed animations looping 24/7 in the facility lobby. In addition, a 35-foot long multi-touch interactive table was selected that would allow 32 students at a time to interact with the table in an engaging manner while learning about the company’s successful history of innovation and product offerings. Workers across all product lines would be cross-trained at the WHEC and the presentation technologies selected for push content and interactive training would help prepare workers for field work on simulated rigs and wells with two oil training wells.

    For the Mosaic screen display, more than 300 hours of graphics, animations and videos were produced. The visual marketing content was designed to welcome visitors, showcase the company’s products and services, highlight corporate philosophies, facts about Baker Hughes, patents, inventions, inspirational quotes from innovative thinkers across time and a variety of images from Baker Hughes locations around the world that highlighted the company’s commitment to social responsibility and forward thinking.

    A custom interactive multi-touch presentation was designed to showcase Baker Hughes’ more than 100 year-long history. The custom interactive user experience featured organizational milestones, patents, inventions, key industry dates and global reach along with industry highlights around the world. 32 students at a time could touch anywhere on the table and interact with photos, videos and information about the company. Designed as a fun interactive way to learn about the company, the multi-touch table could also be switched from history programming to Baker Hughes products and engineering designs.

    Baker Hughes opened its Western Hemisphere Education Center March 1, 2014. The facility now successfully trains company employees from all product lines and serves Baker Hughes’ training needs for North America and Latin America regions, as well as the Europe/Africa/Russia-Caspian and Middle East/Asia-Pacific regions.

    VISION has been honored by the American Advertising Federation with an ADDY award for "Best Permanent Installation Design" and by the Business Marketing Association for "Best Interactive Programming" and "Best Fixed Installation Graphics and Animation".

  2. VISION Production Group was engaged by Baker Hughes to produce a state-of-the-art video to help showcase the company's culture of innovative thinking. Entitled "Innovation is in our DNA", the video premiered as part of CEO Martin Craighead's live presentation to Baker Hughes analysts at their annual meeting.

    The video has been honored by the Business Marketing Association with a Lantern Award for "Best Graphics/Animation" and "Best Marketing Video", as well as by the American Advertising Federation, earning Addy awards for "Best Sound Design", "Best Animation" and "Best Marketing Video".
