An interdisciplinary research + development studio that considers the city of Chicago a resource and lab for new concepts in civic innovation and critical interventions. The challenge was to imagine the city different than it is today—formed, represented, or manipulated differently by data. Small student teams worked for two semesters to research specific urban social issues then conceptualize, prototype, design and propose creative responses. Teams were comprised of students from graphic design, industrial design, communications, and learning sciences. Assistant Professor Matt Wizinsky + Instructor Jon Chambers.
