PitchNic

Dead Air is a 2017 PitchNic narrative film, created as part of Spy Hop’s advanced filmmaking class by Steven Uribe, Carson McKinnon, and Ryan Leader.

High in the mountains, a woman's dying screams echo through the forest. A lone painter witnesses and recounts what he saw of her death.

PitchNic is Spy Hop’s award winning, 13-month, advanced filmmaking class, the next step in creative and technical film pursuits, resulting in four 20-minute films and a red carpet premiere. More information can be found at spyhop.org/pitchnic-film/

This channel showcases the PitchNic films, Spy Hop's year long intensive film class.

Broken into two groups, documentary and narrative, each student spends time working on story ideas and then pitches them to a panel of film professionals. The winning six pitches advance to the final round and are narrowed down to four final films by the class. The rest of the class is spent learning first-hand how to create a professional-caliber film.

PitchNic films have screened at over 30 festivals internationally, including the Sundance Film Festival, Los Angeles International Film Festival, Westport Youth Film Festival, and CineYouth Film Festival.
