    Scene 1 was a preshow installation performed as the audience was entering.

    Synopsis
    (Scene 1 & 2) The Poet, on his death-bed, is guided by Shadow and Light to The Temple. (Scene 3) Yoshinaka’s spirit appears, remorseful for turning the woman warrior Tomoe away in his last moments on the battlefield. (Scene 4) Tomoe’s spirit then tells her own tale of this thwarted love. (Scene 5) The Goddess Kannon arrives and, (Scene 6) through song and dance, transforms the spirits. The barriers that once separated the spirits are dissolved and all rejoice. (Scene 7) Now united, the three spirits are liberated.
