1. "Rare Breed" speakers Sanjay Dani and Bhavishkar. An idea that took seed in the mind of Police Sub Inspector Bhaskar Dhangle, resulted in an adventurous journey of a lifetime for himself, Police Sub Inspector Sanjay Dani and 6 other members of the Bombay Police Force. They took up a challenge to ride four Royal Enfield motorbikes from Mumbai, India to London, UK through Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Bulgaria, Croatia & Slovenia (former Yugoslavia), Italy and France. They were on the road for two months, navigating some of the most exciting and treacherous roads in the world. One would imagine that the lack of satellite navigation or mobile phones would be the biggest challenge they had to face while planning their journey but the bigger challenge probably was to explain to their middle class Maharastrian families that this was a good idea! But “Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come,”. Everything aligned with the intention of these gentlemen to make this journey possible. The planning itself took all of six months to complete, using maps and mostly their imagination. At a time when travel gear was not readily available in India, they built indigenous carriers to fit on their motorbikes. They set off knowing that they had the resourcefulness required to make it through this adventure.
Sanjay Dani presented their story at MTM15

  2. MTM "Rare Breed" Speaker - Dilip Bam.
Most people call him eccentric. But we think he is most normal than any of us. We define these terms to people with our limited knowledge and perspectives of self and experiences confined in the walls of our brains. We fail to portray our true selves in the midst of people. There is always a mask. Dilip Bam beats that shit - may i say?"Buda Hoga Tera Baap" he says. English is a funny language he says and therefore does not follow the norms. Meet this man who claims - he has only half a brain left with a gaping hole in his head. He probably needed that to ride across the Sahara on his Kinetic Honda. FYI - Sahara is the largest desert in the world and is three times the size of INdia. Udderwise (that's him) he has taken up many journeys in the country and outside. He speaks Hokkien Chinese, Indonesian, Malaysian. Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Marathi, Hindi & English. Also reads and writes Urdu. He has worked with almost all the media houses writing motorcycle reviews. He also teaches at many Business Management institutions in India today.

  3. Haroon and Farzana, a humble couple, settled in Bangalore, are not your quintessential ride-around-world couple. After a decade of pondering over the idea and persuading his wife to accompany him…today their only question is “Where next?” They took their first big step when they bought two tickets to Germany and sent their children off to their grandparent’s house. Their first ride was along the European Alps on a rented, brand new, light blue-grey, BMW R1200RT. Covering 300kms that first day, in Munich they knew that this was just the beginning of totally new phase in life. Today, Haroon Rafiq and Dr.Zainaba Farzana hold a national record in the Limca Book of Records for being the first Indian couple to ride over six continents on BMW motorcycles, doing a 7-9 day ride across 2-4 countries in each continent.

  4. This is the among the emotional talks we have heard on the MTM platform.
At a time and age when the records were broken - Deepak and his mate Basavaraj set out across borders to set the fastest circumnavigation record around the globe on a motorcycle. Kitted up with the best available motorcycle then, Yezdi Roadking and support from the company, they achieved setting the Limca Book world record. A humble kind hearted soul who lives a simple day-to-day is a quite inspiration to many of us. What mattered in the end was not the World Record but the adventure of seeking and crossing borders.

Listen to this illustrious life - many records were set on cycles, K2K record and the world record. The story was lost in time when Deepak went underground to live a regular life. We are happy to have found him and the opportunity to document/archive it.

Motorcycle Travellers Meet is a get-together of like-minded serious motorcycle travellers and adventure motorcyclists. The meet is geared for travellers who belong on the motorcycle, who venture out to explore the boundaries of adventure and travel. It’s a meet to share experiences, tips and inspire the spirit of travel and adventure.
Our Vision
Connect, Share, learn and Inspire.
Stories and journeys of travellers who have crossed the boundaries of comfort and the known have always inspired us. Being among such travellers and achievers is valuable to realise our dormant dreams of the road. With utmost joy we revel in the company of such travellers and give ourselves hope to the dreams of getting out there into the unknown. In ways, search for our own freedom.
MTM India is an effort to bring together all such stories, journeys and inspiration. To connect with travellers who have had the courage to “start”, to take that first step towards exploration and get out there following their compass.
Our vision is to connect travellers, global communities and organisations that believe in this common goal.
The meet is organised in association with Horizons Unlimited and The Ted Simon Foundation. We have partnered/allied with many organisations and hope to make more connections as we grow..
