1. Ray Stata, Chairman and Founder of Analog Devices, Inc. is one of the most enlightened corporate leaders I have ever met. Here, in an excerpt from an interview in 2007, he discusses the attributes of leadership - the secret of his successful company. Working under the leadership of producer Steve Weatherbee, my role included working with the host to develop a concise series of questions, and ended with managing the edit with Steve.

In light of the Wall Street shenanigans in 2006 - 2007,, Mr.Stata's beliefs are a welcome viewpoint from a corporate giant.

  2. Care and comfort for the dying is a most noble human cause. The Hospice of the North Shore, through the generous support of the community, has just completed an extension to their unique hospice facility.

This is a revised version of the Gala video, removing a reference to time, so that it could continue to be used for community outreach.

We loaded this video on personalized Memory Sticks for Hospice of the North Shore, in order to simplify distribution.

  3. Ron Morin, who ran Gloucester's NUVA program, was the 2006 Red Cross Enduring Hero. I have been helping the Red Cross produce the Red Cross Hero's Breakfast for years.

Each one of the Enduring Heroes are remarkable people, but Ron is memorable to me because he said that anyone who beat a Heroin addiction is a bigger hero than he will every be.

  4. Every year, for 10 years, we have been helping the local chapter of the American Red Cross to produce a fund-raiser that gives tribute to everyday heroes. This year was the 10th anniversary of the Red Cross Heroes Breakfast.

This year's Enduring Hero - the person selected for his or her legacy of selfless contributions to others - was Dr. Richard Wylie, the President of Endicott College. This is the video we produced in tribute to his dedication to community.

Dawn Marie Corneau was the co-chair of this year's 10th Anniversary event - in a new, larger venue with a commitment to achieving aggressive new development goals for the Red Cross.

In Dawn Marie's e-mail to us, she said, "Well, the feedback has been great!! Sponsors, table sponsors and attendees really thought the event was very polished and still very personal. I know there might have been a few errors, but I do not believe that the audience noticed or cared.

We are up 25% from last year's numbers. I thought the audio, video presentations, slides and technology was top notch.

You, Bob and Chris made a great team. I thank you so much for being the leader of the pack since it is a big undertaking."

  5. Changing a Life One Kid at a Time is a development video that we produced for a YMCA Annual Gala. We all dug in and focused intensely on this project for a week, and shot the video on location, in Haverhill, MA, on the very day that Tropical Storm Sandy hit our New England shores. The ride home in my little Honda Fit was quite an adventure!
This video had a very specific purpose: to encourage attendees at the YMCA annual Gala Auction to bid generously to sponsor week-long summer camp experience for a child whose family could not normally afford to send their kid to camp. The average fee for a week-long stay at camp is $ 150.00.

Kim, who volunteers in the YMCA in the Development office, sent me this note soon after the event: :" It was amazing!!!!! Raised $147,000 in camperships, a new, astonishing number! Thank you, thank you for being so accommodating last week! The video looked great!"

Beth Francis, Vice-President of Development, followed with this note: "Incredible! You saw the number… It was truly astonishing. I had 2 Executive Directors come up to me and say the video was great. That never happens it was AMAZING to get a compliment from them! … people really quieted down to watch it which was amazing given the level of noise throughout. I think it made a real difference!

We are so happy to help these devoted institutions reach their goals.
