1. Hello again everyone and thanks for watching The Drive on MWTV. I'm Chris Woody.

We want to remind everyone once again that we have two upcoming events and deadlines are fast approaching. Indy Drivers - the deadline to sign up for the May 22nd event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is April 29th. We must have the names of all employees and guests by that date. We'll have a suite at the track and food catered by Jugs. This is going to be a great time for our Indy drivers and it kicks of an entire week of Driver Appreciation activities. We'll have staff from the Nashville office visiting the terminal, plenty of food, and much more. So be sure to contact Zack Pugh in Nashville at extention 212 to reserve your spot by April 29th.

And down here in Nashville we've got our own event to sign up for. We'll be at Smiley Hollow in Goodlettsville, TN on July 23rd, but you must sign up by Friday, June 10th in order to attend. This picnic is for Nashville and Memphis employees, along with their spouses and any children living at home. There's a sign-up sheet at the front desk in B-building, or you can call Zack Pugh to reserve your spot. And once again, you must sign up by June 10th.

Well drivers, that's it for this edition of The Drive on MWTV. I'm Chris Woody. Thanks for watching, stay safe out there, and keep on truckin'.

  2. Hello everyone and thanks for joining us once again for The Drive on MWTV. I’m Zack Pugh.

We now have a couple of sign-up deadlines for our upcoming company events. Indy drivers – if you would like to join us for the kick-off to driver appreciation week at Indianapolis motor speedway, you must sign up by April 29th. We’ll get to see some great qualifying action from the comfort of our own suite. That event will take place on May 22nd, but once again, you must sign up by April 29th. You can contact me, Zack Pugh, at ext. 212 to reserve your spot.

And for all you Nashville and Memphis drivers – our company picnic at Smiley Hollow will be on Saturday, July 23rd, and you must sign up by June 13th in order to attend. This event is for employees, their spouses, and any children living at home. The sign-up sheet for the event is located in B building, but you can also call me at ext. 212 to make your reservation.

And now for all our drivers – the safety bonus will be paid out this week and we’ve made some changes to the information you’ll get in your mailbox to help make the calculation a little clearer. The top half of the sheet will show you exactly how your score and bonus payout were calculated. The bottom half of the sheet will list any observations that were made as well as any notes concerning the bonus. We feel it’s very important that everyone understands their bonus, and that they have access to all the information we use to calculate it. If you have any questions about the safety bonus, just see Chris Woody or give him a call at ext. 229.

And finally, we know especially around bonus time that most of the talk is about infractions and things drivers did wrong, but we’d like to share a quick word about something a driver did right. Ronnie Gilliam was the subject of a glowing email sent to M&W last week from one of our customers. In that email, the customer gave Ronnie high praise for his skill and professionalism. So we’d like to thank Ronnie for representing M&W the right way, and we’d like to thank all of you who are going about your business like professionals every day.

Well that’s it for this edition of The Drive on MWTV. I’m Zack Pugh. Thanks for watching, stay safe out there, and keep on truckin’.

  3. Hello everyone and thanks for watching The Drive on MWTV. I’m Chris Woody.

Well as everyone knows, here at M&W we are 100% committed to safety, and this past week we officially recognized three drivers who led that charge throughout 2015. Freeman Key, Jeff Olson, and Stephen Pace were all presented with crystal trophies for their commitment to safety and outstanding performance. And while these three drivers certainly deserve to be recognized, it’s important that we let everyone know that as a fleet, our safety scores have improved dramatically since this time last year. So thank you to everyone who’s out there every day, operating safely.

And we’d like to let everyone know that a sign-up sheet is now up in B building for our company picnic at Smiley Hollow in Goodlettsville, TN. That event will take place on Saturday, July 23rd from 4:40pm to 8:30pm. Nashville and Memphis employees, as well as their families are invited. Give Zack Pugh a call at ext. 212 if you have any questions.

And for our Indianapolis drivers, don’t forget – we’ll be at qualifying at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 22nd to kick off our Indy driver appreciation week. Several members of the staff will be there, including Zack Pugh, Bart Spain, Wayne Dorris, and even me! We’ll have food and giveaways all week long. It should be a great time and we can’t wait to get up there.

Well that does it for this edition of The Drive on MWTV. I’m Chris Woody. Thanks for watching, stay safe out there, and keep on truckin’.

  5. Hello again everyone and thanks for watching The Drive on MWTV. I’m Zack Pugh.

We’ve got a lot news to cover today so let’s get right to it…

Last week M&W sponsored a Nashville Rescue Mission event… the Hearts for Hope Luncheon at Trevecca University. Several women who are currently seeking shelter at the mission were the guests of honor at the lunch, which included a performance by Reba McEntire as well as an inspirational message from one of the graduates of the Life Recovery Program at the mission. M&W has been a long time partner with the mission, but we’d love for you to have the opportunity to get involved as well. If you would like to see how you can help or would like to make a donation, please see me in B-building or give me call at extension 212. It’s a great cause, and you’ll be helping folks right here in our community.

And as we mentioned it last week, we plan on doing several other company events this year, some for charity, and some just for fun and to honor all the employees who work so hard to make this company successful. We’ll be making announcements as soon as plans are finalized.

And finally in M&W news, open enrollment is almost here. We’re still negotiating with insurance carriers to make sure our employees get the best coverage available at the best price, but that process should be finished soon. As soon as everything is finalized, we’ll get enrollment forms and information out to you. Remember, you must enroll by March 1st in order to be covered. Even if you currently have insurance benefits and don’t want to make any changes to your current plans, you must sign a new enrollment form. We’ll talk more about open enrollment in the coming few days, but be on the lookout for those new enrollment forms.

And one piece of industry news that’s caused quite a stir… In late 2014, Congress ordered FMCSA to suspend the provisions of the restart rule that required drivers to take two 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. periods as part of their 34-hour off-duty period and to wait 168 hours from the beginning of one restart period to the the next. The suspension was to remain in effect until the DOT conducted a study of whether or not the more restrictive provisions provided “a greater safety benefit and submitted a final report to the House and Senate. What’s missing from the legislation, though, is a sentence stating that if the report is not conclusive, the suspension will be permanent and the current rule will remain in force. As it stands now, because the legislation doesn’t say what happens next, the 34 hour restart rule will be removed altogether. Lawmakers are currently working on a solution, but nothing has been decided yet. We’ll keep you up to date as this story develops.

Well that’s it for this edition of The Drive on MWTV. I’m Zack Pugh. Thanks for watching, stay safe out there, and keep on truckin’.
