Jesus’ first documented defeat of the devil ends with a heavenly support system. When we
decide to demand the devil to flee we are met with a support system like no other. Rediscover
joy, hope, and peace when the devil flees.
The devil tries to create a seed of Doubt in Jesus’ mind. Jesus rebukes the devil by being
confident in where His power comes from. So many times the enemy can use Doubt to creep in
and keep us from a relationship with Christ. The devil uses Scripture in his temptation. At times
the devil can work within the community of faith to disrupt the community of faith.
The devil tempts Jesus to turn stones into bread, keying on Jesus’ reality of “lack” of sufficient
food in the desert. Sometimes we think we only have “stones” and “not enough” which causes
us to Stress. But Jesus’ words “man does not live on bread alone” references to the Spiritual
food that gives us sustenance in life’s Stony times. Instead of Stressing Stones, make an altar of
Stones signifying God’s provision.
