This film was shot in two weeks (Dec '13) on the Hawaiian islands of Oahu and Maui. Many of the timelapses were taken on Haleakalā (House of the Sun), which is a 10,000ft tall dormant volcano. The volcano is a timelapse photographers dream; the climate is in constant flux and the landscape is absolutely breathtaking. I often spent 12 to 15 hours on the mountain watching the clouds and photographing them. The trip was exhausting but it made me happy knowing I was doing what I love.
This is the graphics package we created for zona playstation, a show dedicated to showcasing the hottest releases for the playstation consoles. A sexy and intense neon palette residing in a dark and textural environment: a great way to amplify the beauty contained in the simplicity of Playstation's icons.
MIRA - Live Visual Arts Festival
6-15 November MMXIV
Fabra i Coats, Arts Santa Mònica, Razzmatazz
First teaser for the new edition of MIRA Festival, introducing the new graphic campaign.
We wanted to convey an overall view of all the contemporary visual culture disciplines offered by the festival, and we chose an aesthetic where the viewer can experience a virtual exhibition visit to discover different works related to all the topics of MIRA: Sound, Light and Movement.
The Installation 1 is related to the Sound, and it represents an abstract audio setup where the sound waves generated by the speakers are captured with a kind of crystal vibrating sensors, and transmitted to a magnetic hologram machine which creates this evolving metallic ball.
No Key Frames were used in this piece, all the animation is reactive to the sound, so we made first the audio track and then we have setup all the parameters in the scene to get this automatic behaviour. We used the real time GPU render engine Octane Render.
The new graphic campaign revolves around three installations located in three imaginary galleries. Interaction and staging are the common factors of these pieces that play with a 3D realism mixed with elements out of context and impossible physical actions that help create a sense of confusion and disorder in the viewer. Imaginary avant-garde spaces, post-digital aesthetic and an important technological connection that brings the installations to life.
Created this fun little animation for creativeconnect.co.nz. To be used on a background screen on loop for their booth at semi permanent in Auckland. The idea was to make a logo resolve that would work as a loop for the entire
event, and would hold people's attention for repeat viewings.
