1. FLOW FALL/WINTER 2015-2016

In their new FLOW fall-winter collection, sister designer duo Viktoria and Veronika have looked back on fashion heritage of the 70’s.

70’s were the time of big changes in society and culture. War in Vietnam, new wave of youth subcultures including hippie, heyday of mainstream cinema and pop-music and, of course, sexual revolution: this complex blend of events and facts have affected fashion of that period greatly. Elegance merged with unconventionality, bold eroticism fused with military notes, peculiar colors and jaunty spirit — these key elements of 70’s style got their refined modern interpretation in FLOW F/W 2015-2016 collection.

Core garments of the collection include flare trousers with creases, halter tops, pointed collar shirts, loose knit sweaters, midi skirts and minimal city coats. One can easily imagine those black, grey, dark green and bright orange clothes, made from 100% wool and silk, worn by prominent 70’s actresses and style icons like Jane Fonda and Jane Birkin.

Art is another thing that notably affected F/W 2015-2016, as well as it was with all the previous FLOW collections. This time, the designers were inspired by 70’s cinema masterpieces like ‘Eyes of Laura Mars’ and ‘Klute’ along with works of Austrian painter Egon Schiele. Special accent of the collection is made on digital prints created by young Ukrainian artist Anton Yakshyn. His graphic appliqués of juicy fruits, glaze bakery and graceful female hands refer to the emphasized sexual aspect of the decade.
