We spend 5 days in Iceland in December. We tried to do and see as much as possible so we rented a 4wd and drove along south coast from Reykjavik to Jökulsárlón.
It's a great country wich you really can't compare to any other country in Europe. We saw beautiful falls, al lot of ice and snow and so much more. We even had the luck to see the northern light a few times.
I really hope to come back once, because there's so much more to see.
How did we end up in Iceland?
Year after year we've been going to Japan for our far away vacations. Along the way we discovered our love for nature and its true beauty. And also our love to capture everything we see with our camera's. So, Iceland seemed to be the perfect next destination, since it's known as a photographers paradise.
2014 was our 10 year anniversary. Remi celebrated this by giving me the trip to Iceland as a present. Not knowing there was an ulterior motive…
Remi arranged the whole thing. Once we landed, we travelled to Reykjavik and picked up our car. We did a road trip in Iceland, and did the 'full circle'. Day after day we were blown away by all of the beautiful scenery. We'd never thought Iceland would be like this!
Oh boy. We went somewhere special this time. After months of research and planning we arrived in Iceland! It was the most relaxing, the most adventurous, most fun-filled week of my life! We laughed till' our faces ached. We ate like kings and drank good Scotch. We may or may not have gotten a little emotional we saw the northern lights. We explored the untouched places and marveled at the tourist spots. It was a week of stunning views and the best of friends. I can't get over what a wonder-filled place Iceland is. Nothing more than a small rock at the top of the world. The people, the sights, the sounds, the way it makes you feel. I've never experienced anything like it in my travels. This video is a short glimpse into that experience. Enjoy!
