One of Farmer Clive’s favourite older cows hurt her back last week whilst calving. It meant that she had no strength to lift herself up after giving birth to her baby girl calf. The weather was fanatastic so Farmer Clive was easily able to assist her using a loader and the tractor to left her up and put her out into the field with plenty of food and water so she could rest. Then twice a day she was hoisted to her feet. It looks a bit frightening on the video but the cow soon got used to the twice daily lifting during her day and guess what – 10 days later she is standing all by herself and well on the road to a full recovery! We are all so pleased to see her up and about in the paddock.
Here is a video of Brandon showing what happens to the two rods as he walks over a water pipe - all the people on the farm keep joking that Brandon should have a new nickname "Crowe" after the movie star Russell Crowe who was in the recent movie the #waterdiviners !
