1. This is a short film crossed with an imaginary documentary. The soundscape created by Jon Drummond incorporates sounds Lisa recorded while on expedition in the High Arctic including throat singer Celina Kalluk, sounds of the Russian Icebreaker Kapitan Khlebnikov and her own diaries. The unique images are some of Lisa's photographs of ice in many forms including glaciers, icebergs and ice floes. The work explores the edges of the remote areas experiencing the sheer force of Global Warming. The ice is melting in our Sno Dome.

  2. This is the background to my crowd funding proposal for my artist in Residency in ICELAND.
I have been making video works, digital images and recording sounds and stories for radio work in remote locations around the world from the top in the High Arctic to the Antarctic on the other side.
My research, drawings and photographs all explore ideas of the stories and data within the landscape. What is hidden from us until we understand how to read the land. Some of these secrets are in these remote landscapes.
Join me on the blog and radio work from Iceland in December by signing up and pledging funds.

  3. This work was created in a site famed for it's mystery and pagan past, Stonehenge.
The work explores the personal story of death. The modern version amid the stones and fire festivals, the old made new.
In this story we are marked by death and released again into the crowd, knowing our measure, our time has been taken.
What would you do with the diagnosis of death, what do many of us do.
This is a very personal narrative amid the weather of fire and stone, we are measured.

  4. This video and performance work repeats the last movements of the last Thylacine in the short footage taken at Beaumaris Zoo in 1931. The sadness of the forlorne figure with a projected series of images made in the Tarkine expresses the hope that there may still be wild Tylacines left in Australia. Further the sheer tired hopelessness of a lonely creature in stifling conditions of the zoo cage, dreaming of some different kind of wild.
The work is short, 5" and looped and intended to be projected with an installation of a series of soft, inflatable sculptures constructed within the environment.

  5. This performance work is based on the last movements of the thylacine in captivity just before it's death. The location was in Tasmania,an Island in Australia with a grime history of convicts and aboriginal massacres.
The Thylacine was distinctive with strips along the flank of the beasts, and while it roamed across the entire continent of Australia it's last hideout in a changing environment was in Tasmania. The beast has become a symbol of environmental disaster in Australia, as it was hunted into extinction.
There are local beliefs and hopes that the creature still exists, possibly in the wilderness regions in the west of Tasmania in the Tarkine.
The fossils of the creature have been found across the mainland, from the Blue Mountains, to the mining areas of Western Victoria and the Desert areas surrounding Perth.
There are many people who claim that they still roam in wilderness areas in Australia and they have joined the almost mythical characters of fantasy and otherness that roam across different regions as ghosts, spirits, tricksters, elves, faeries and gods and goddess. As they say in Iceland only a fool believes only in what he can see and touch.
This work is a part of a series of artworks exploring the idea of the Huldefolke, or Hidden People as creatures and spirits in the spaces around us and representing our hopes and dreams and a stronger association with landscape.
