Love in the Time of War was a traveling exhibition at the UC Santa Barbara Glass Box Gallery and SF Camerawork. Curated by Việt Lê and Jennifer Vanderpool, the show was on view at SF Camerawork from September 1- October 15, 2016. The video documents an exhibition-related panel discussion at SF Camerawork between the curators and four of the exhibiting artists, Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Anida Yoeu Ali, Bo and Amy Lee Sanford.
WORDS documents a journey to northern India made by sixteen teenagers in the summer of 2008. They were participants in a New Mexico-based educational program sponsored by SGLA (Sustainable Global Leadership Alliance),
WORDS follows an eclectic group of sixteen American teenagers, ages 15-22, as they travel from New Mexico to northern India. They are participants in a summer-long educational program sponsored by the Sustainable Global Leadership Alliance. It is a challenging experience, traveling in a third-world country while dealing with the demanding curriculum and group dynamics.
Watching this feature documentary, filmed and directed by Megan McHugh, we experience the young seekers as they navigate both a new world and their encounters with each other - far from home.
