1. Berlin Atonal is not a normal music festival. Started in 1982 by Dimitri Hegemann, it's always been an occasion for electronic music artists to showcase their newest sonic and visual experimentations.

The first time I went to Atonal Festival I was really impressed by everything. The impact of the performances combined with the unique use of the venue, almost as a musical instrument itself, is not something you see at every festival. The main idea for the documentary was to explore the creative processes that lead artists to experiment with electronic music in such different ways in front of the same audience. The selection and use of tools, interaction with the crowd, balance between production and live concert… Everyone has its own unique way of crafting a show that is in some cases performed only at Kraftwerk. What keeps everything together is the power of music, able to break all sorts of barriers between humans and shape the world of tomorrow.
