  2. This film is a collection of audiovisual moments and memories of a 3-week railway journey through Japan in 2015. We were whizzing through the country with the Shinkansen visiting Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima and Kyoto as well as lots of wonderful little places along the way, meeting the most friendly people and experiencing a culture that somehow balances its rich tradition with a very futuristic present.

  3. Paper is one of the most versatile and beautiful mediums available to makers, able to create and reproduce entire worlds at the cut of a blade. After years of experience perfecting this craft, The Makerie Studio teamed up with Director André Gidoin to magically bring one of these worlds to life, by creating and filming a hand made paper Zoetrope.

A zoetrope is a device that produces the illusion of motion from a rapid succession of static pictures. Often referred to as the Wheel Of Life, we were inspired to tell the story of one zoetrope in particular, that one night came to life.

All filmed in camera, the horses on the carousel are spaced to spin in sync with the camera’s frame rate to create the illusion of motion. Each horse is carefully studied to follow the one before it, so that once at speed they appear to be galloping.

The zoetrope was filmed surrounded by a multitude of smaller carousels, all hand made for The Makerie Studio’s New York launch.

  4. JUSTSO Create One Of The World’s Most Complicated Interactive Projection Campaigns For Fabergé

JUSTSO was commissioned by Fabergé to create and develop their pre-Easter 2015 campaign. Stuart Henry, award-winning international window designer, conceived the idea of a virtual egg. Stuart with his team at JUSTSO visualised an interactive projection art installation exhibited on a 1.5 metre 3D egg-shaped model. The projection would then be emulated and emitted through suspended shards producing the effect of an explosion.

Fabergé installation can be seen at Harrods between March 3rd to March 27th 2015.
