I was lucky enough to join #NASASocial and get to tour the Orbital ATK facility and watch the test fire of QM-1, the booster that will be used with the NASA Space Launch System (SLS) in the near future. Here's the full video of the test firing from countdown to burn cessation.

My artistic work centers around the natural and the artificial and the border between order and chaos - that's where the interesting things happen.
In this animation, I took a smoke simulation - which in itself would simply look like smoke - and made strands follow it's dynamics.
By this transformation, we can see it anew...
