  3. In July 2014, Performing Gender project was back to Madrid!

Silvia Gribaudi, Pablo Esbert Lilienfeld, Giorgia Nardin and Bruno Isakovic have returned to the Reina Sofia Museum in order to stage four new creations, the final result of their artistic and personal research on gender identities and sexual orientations. The week was organised by Paso a 2 Plataforma Coreográfica Asociación Cultural, the Spanish partner of the project.

Performing Gender is a European dance project making use of artistic and cultural tools to open up a civil reflection on gender and sexual orientation differences. The project invites an international group of choreographers, dancers and visual artists to share a two year voyage of research and training based in different European cities: workshops, residencies and performances investigate the representations of sexuality and gender, challenging the artists’ identities and calling into question stereotypes and bias.

  4. Ljubljana training week took place from 6th to 14th November 2017, during the 23rd International festival of contemporary arts - City of Women. It has combined a range of activities, such as practical and theoretical workshops, debates and meetings, encounters with specialists and other artists, as well as intensive dialogue between the five dance makers and the local dramaturg, Tea Hvala.

Thematically, the focus was on different yet intertwined aspects of reproductive freedom: the history of feminist struggles for legal, accessible and safe abortion; new family models and the present-day struggles of lesbian and gay parents; attempts to queer the idea of a family unit; and biotechnological innovations that allow us to think of bodies and reproduction beyond anthropocentricity.

The training week will provide the chosen dance makers with an abundance of raw material for the development of their performative sketches, which were presented during the last day.

  5. “Abscene is a new word and I do it today. Now, Abscene is full-time. Abscene ascends, somehow. Ab is a short cut, expresses ideas of fast-flowing, rapidness, from A to B, quite linear. One’s subjective line of thought lingers in different points. Ab is also a prefix for away, abominated. It is simple, not quite as complex as the prefix Ob, which refers to openness, exposure, opposition, resistance, blocking, finality, completeness and the inverse. I choose Ab particularly because it is not Ob. However, Ab is moments from being all Ob is. I do not want it to disappear, today.”

Being poetical and philosophical reflection of a perception of Blok's poetry, the film at the same time renders an atmosphere of legendary "Silver Age" of russian poetry.

The tragicomedy of the absurd, taken in 1989 based on the works of Daniil Kharms (1905-1942).
Trying to recreate the realities of the 30-ies, which was the flourishing of creativity harms, the Director plays the style of filming, acting games that time introduces in the picture of "aged" sound. Thus it is possible to achieve the most accurate sound of the author's text and help the viewer to take in the atmosphere in which lived and created absurd classic. This is the world of illusions, allusions and associations, reflecting the stream of consciousness of the Creator, living in an era of silence.
