A short documentary following six artists as they embark on creating visual art installations for Hull's 2015 Freedom Festival.
Inspired by the iconic Kingston Communications white telephone boxes in Hull, the Humber Calling project features six phone boxes painted the Freedom Festival colours, all themed around the concept of 'freedom' highlighted in Scanner's soundscape piece, 'Air Time':
'Air Time' is a new soundscape composed for Hull’s Freedom Festival by renowned UK sound artist Scanner (Robin Rimbaud), as part of Humber Calling - a new collection of work that will appear at the festival in September 2015.
Humber Calling will feature six new, non-art-form-specific commissions from artists based locally and further afield, created in response to Scanner’s track and inspired by the festival theme of ‘Broadcast – Voices of Freedom’.
