Timber Frame Videos

  1. Crane Day: It's the moment we've all been waiting for. The culmination of months of design, engineering, off-site fabrication in our shop, hard work, and skillful execution. No other part of building a home is more dramatic: We cut and fit for weeks in our shop and the timber frame fits together like a puzzle on site–often in one day. Whether a timber frame is raised by hand, or with a crane, quality is never an accident–it is always the result of process and people. We appreciate the confidence reposed in our work, and you taking the time to watch this video. Copyright 2016 Carolina Timberworks, All Rights Reserved. 5. Once or twice a year, something extraordinary happens. The Timber Framers Guild partners with a local non-profit or community to build a timber frame. Timber framers and volunteers come together to help raise the frame, the local community feeds the volunteers, and almost always, something magical happens: communities get stronger, friendships develop, and a bond is formed--both for the timber frame industry and the community that brought them there. A few of the more than 75 past projects include two houses for Habitat for Humanity, the Kicking Horse River Covered Bridge in BC, pavilions, boat sheds, a blacksmith shop, a synagogue roof in Poland, a downtown community barn, and a trebuchet. Carolina Timberworks' timber frame videos are an easy and fun way to learn more about timber framing. We love shooting timber frame videos and have lots more coming. We'll keep them short, semi-professional, and fun. Enjoy, and visit our website for photographs of our work. carolinatimberworks.com

Carolina Timberworks, co-owned by Eric Morley and Eric Osborne, crafts beautifully hand made timber frames and beam work. We install our work across the USA, Canada and the Bahamas. What makes this practical is the way we build our timber frames: we hand cut, pre-assemble, and carefully fit your timber framing in our shop, take it apart, label each piece, and deliver it to your site–where it goes together surprisingly quickly because we send the same craftspeople who spent weeks cutting and fitting your timber frame in our shop to your site to professionally install it.

When you purchase a Carolina Timberworks timber frame, you'll work with the owners of the company, with people who are not only passionate about the craft of timber framing, wood, and woodworking–but who are equally passionate about doing what they said they'd do (when they said they'd do it) and exceeding your expectations.

Carolina Timberworks is member of the Timber Framers Guild, the Timber Frame Business Council, and the Timber Frame Engineering Council.
