1. A beginners tutorial on setting up the basic elements that belong to a 3D scene inside Houdini. We discuss Houdini´s interface, cameras, geometry, light sources, shaders and the physical renderer just enough to get a rendering out of it.

2. Here is my last tutorial about controling fractures in houdini. You can see the tutorial on the Digital Tutors website :

I hope you enjoy it!

3. This video is the third introduction to Houdini.
Here I show the basics of using variables and expressions.

You can find the previous tutorial in the series at vimeo.com/117178387

Because I want to implement a Nuke and Houdini pipeline tutorials for the Indie artists among you. This video is part of a series of videos I am making to get people comfortable with Houdini.

Any suggestions, critiques and doubts are always welcome! or you could just stop by to say hi!

4. UPDATE: You can use POP ADVECT by VOLUME instead of source volume in DOP network. Use air resistance as your vel influence and check Treat as wind. Thanks to Christos Parliaros for the suggestion....Awesome! :) I will make a short tut on this later. Thanks again.

By this method you can make any sort of crown shape splash in Houdini, more likely the real flow IoWaterBlast.

Special thanks to : Christos Parliaros for the VEX code. It was impossible without that.
I have used VOP instead VEX. VEX is complicated to me. But for those who needs the vex:

vector direction = {0,1,0};
@N = cross(cross(@N,direction),@N);

If you can develop this method more, please, let me know! Thanks! :)

5. This tutorial is geared towards intermediate users that are already familiar with Houdini.
