    Geneva – A major march for the animals – August 22nd 2015

Speciesism is to species what racism and sexism respectively are to race
or sex: an arbitrary discrimination, with consequences morally condemnable.
It is the speciesist ideology that enables us to disregard the interests
of others sentient beings of the planet to the point, for example, to
raise them and kill them to eat their flesh. Although its arguments are
in fact indefensible, speciesism justified in our eyes animal
exploitation, and thus makes it possible.

The World Day for the End of Speciesism aims to bring public attention
to this unsustainable ideology: if the disregard of their interests,
which only allows the exploitation of animals, is not justified, then
animal exploitation is unjustifiable. This first year, the World Day was
the occasion of several marches or happenings in various countries and
towns (Geneva, Montreal, Toronto, Zagreb, etc.).

The video shows us briefly the March to end speciesism held in Geneva,
which brought together not only many activists, but which has seen an
unprecedented media success (dozens of articles, radio shows and TV
    broadcasts).
A real success! See by yourself…

  2. An important March for the animals – August 22nd, Geneva

Our society systematically neglects the interests and lives of animals just because they are not of our species. Various authors have called this attitude "speciesism" and have reported that it was as unjust as racism and sexism. The World Day for the End of Speciesism will be held on August 22nd. In this context, a peaceful march will be organized in Geneva asking out society to respect the lives and interests of all sentient beings, because like us, they want to avoid suffering and violence (meet-up 13:30, Place de navigation).
