1. After months away from posting, I'm back with another short tutorial. I've been hard at work editing a feature film and creating visual effects for it, but hopefully I will be back after the beginning of the year with regular posts.

In this quick tutorial I'll show you how to create an easy smoke or fog simulation without rigging complicated particle systems or having to fork out the bucks for expensive plugins. HOWEVER this is just a major CHEAT for flat 2.5D compositing. There is no interaction with the texture, so there is a downside to this quick and dirty hack, but I found using Cinema 4D Noise Shaders and Layers created a far more realistic texture than anything I could create in After Effects.

    - Enjoy!

  3. In this video I use a few techniques to modeling an extruded cylinder with pointed embellishments using Cinema4D tools.

This is an adaptation of a modeling breakdown found here: http://goo.gl/yXGPxj

The copypastepolys plugin I mention in the video can be found here:

  4. In this tutorial we'll see how to make an unfolding polygons effect to reveal a surface, using MoGraph.

I got inspired for this effect from Paul Clements' awesome "Headphones Breakdown" video.
