The theme for this and the following two editions of Klarafestival is the unbreakable bond that exists between passion and compassion. We’ll begin this journey through passion with That crazy little thing called love! Passion and compassion from the perspective of love. Like passion, life force, yearning and lust. But also like compassion, death, suffering and chastity. Love is possibly the most common theme in the history of music. And still there are more questions than answers. From friday 6 March to saturday 21 March, we’ll be offering a music programme that is as multi-faceted as it is adventurous with the mythical lovers Tristan and Iseult, and Romeo and Juliet spearheading the trip. With numerous concerts by prestigious orchestras, ensembles and conductors in Bozar, Flagey, deSingel and the Concertgebouw in Brugge; contemporary music theatre in collaboration with Ancienne Belgique, a film classic with live music and smaller but no less surprising productions with cutting edge artists from Belgium and abroad in the Kaaitheater, Bronks and even the legendary Brussels nightclub The Fuse.

And on air, Klarafestival will bathe Klara in an atmosphere of passion and love with daily live reports from the concert halls and many of its own radio programmes that will play along with the theme. We look forward to you joining us in great numbers again and this time to discover, along with us, what love has in store. If love could be…
