We saved our best hand for the last day. Before we left for Italy, Harald contacted some Italian mountain bikers and they tipped us off about Monte Semprevisa, which is less than a one hour drive from the house in Veroli.
Monte Semprevisa is a kind of freeride/downhill-ish place. You park your car at the bottom, pedal your way to the top on the gravel path and then bomb down the sweet trails. There are several different trails to choose from on your way down, and some places you will find drops, kicks and dosed turns. The trails are sometimes fast and sometimes very challenging and are great fun. They will inspire you to pedal all the way back up when you get to the bottom, so you can ride them again and again. Thanks to Luigi for the great tip!
When you are done riding for the day, you can drive down to the coast and breathe in some fresh sea air and maybe have a swim in the ocean.
Nordmarka, right outside Oslo, always welcomes us and lets us ride its trails, be it in sunshine, fog, rain or snow. For that, we are truly grateful. Once or twice every week we find ourselves surrounded by beautiful nature and trails of all types, after only fifteen minutes of pedaling from town. This particular sunday in mid November was one of those days not easily forgotten, with the pale autumn sun highlighting the last colors of fall, casting long shadows on the forest ground...
